Get well soon Lloyd!

During Saturdays cup fixture between Hinckley United Under 16's Academy side and Tividale Under 16's, Lloyd Gamble, a player from Hinckley United, ruptured his patella tendon and broke his lower leg in a freak football accident in which no blame can be put on anybody else.

All officials from both teams acted quickly to ensure Lloyd was kept warm and still whilst we waited for the paramedics to arrive.  We would like to thank both sets of players for acting so maturely and responsibly under these extreme conditions, as well as thanking the management and coaching team of Tividale F.C who were fantastic in wishing Lloyd well.

We would like to reserve special thanks to  Tracy, a spectator, and luckily a fully trained nurse who helped Lloyd remain comfortable as well as keeping everybody else calm in the process, she was absolutely fantastic and without doubt helped us all focus on Lloyd.

Lloyd came through a successful operation early Sunday morning to correct his injuries and he will now remain in a cast for 6 weeks before starting physiotherapy through the hospital and the club.  Unfortunately Lloyd will miss the rest of the season with the under 16's and his focus will now be on playing for the Hinckley United youth team next season under the guidance of Steve Cook.

All officials from both teams were fantastic and a credit to themselves, the clubs in which they represent and the league.  I would also like to thank the managers from other league members who have sent their support to Lloyd on hearing the news.  This unfortunate incident brought both teams together, and it also galvanised Hinckley's team spirit after seeing one of their own so badly hurt.

All members of Hinckley United under 16's wish Lloyd a speedy and full recovery ready for next season and thank everybody for their support during the game and since the game.

Ed Bedford, Hinckley United u16's manager

The MJPFL committee would also like wish Lloyd a very speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him fit and well ready for next season. We would also like to express our gratitude and appreciation to everyone at the game for the way they handled this very difficult situation.
