Under 13's Mid Term Round Up

Willenhall Town opened in Group 1 with a goal in the third minute which set them on their way to a 3-0 win against Bilbrook Juniors. An improved Bilbrook showing next time around saw them start the brighter but it wasn't enough to prevent a repeat of the first game's score. Bilbrook came close to earning a point in their last game saw Wednesfield come out winneres by 2-1. Wednesfield had opened with a 1-0 win over Burton Athletic before sharing six goals in the next game between the two. Willenhall top the group with 9 points after beating Burton despite going a goal behind.

Stourport Swifts currently lead Group 4 after beating Worcester City in their first game before losing to Worcester the week after. On Saturday they overcame Gloucester City who had previously taken four points from their two matches against Redditch United. Redditch's last game saw them edge a 1-0 win over Worcester.

Group 3 has just the thre teams and started with a fast-paced game which contained some excellent defending and goalkeeping from which Kidderminster Harriers  came out 2-1 winners. The bnext game between the two started as evenly as most of the first game had been before Kidderminster took control to win 5-2 with the help of 3 goals from Joel Scott. In the other game in the group a very strong performance by Redditch Town earned them a 7-1 over Harriers with Michael Pattison finding the back of the net four times.

In Group 5 Alveston and Leamington Hibs, who have not yet played each other, lead the way with 7 points each. Alveston opened with a 3-1 win over Brackley. The teams drew 4-4 in the next game and provided everyone watching with some great entertainment. Leamington drew 3-3 with Oxford City in their second meeting after leading 3-1 and with Oxford getting their third with just five minutes left.In their first game Leamngton had taken the lead in the second minute and went on to win 2-0. In Saturday's games Alveston notched up their second win when beating Oxford 3-1 while Leamington's game with Brackley saw the score at 1-1 within three minutes of the start with Jordan Godfrey's 40-yard free-kick for Brackley's equaliser before Hibs finished as 3-1 winners.

Group 2 has three teams all on six points. Romulus lead the way on goal difference after beating Rothwell Town 9-5 with Jay Payne getting a hat-trick for Romulus and Rothwell's Dean Henderson scoring four. The next meeting between the two was a great spectacle but without the number of goals from the first meeting as Rothwell emerged victorious this time by a score of 2-1. Romulus's second three-point haul came against Halesowen Town. Romulus scored first but Halsowen equalised before the home side scored five more with their final tally including trebles from Jay Payne and Connor Cesar. Halesowen were unlucky to lose their first match against Borough Alliance with a deflected shot falling nicely to Billy Buchanan to score the only goal. The next meeting between the sides saw Borough run out 4-1 winners. Rothwell were involved in another high-scoring game on Saturday and came out on the winning side this time in defeating Borough Alliance 6-3 with three of the goals coming from Adam Lawrie and with Sukhraj Nijjar coming on as substitute to get all three for Borough.

In Group 6 Bristol Rovers (SW) opened strongly wih a 4-0 win over Bath City. The return also went in Rovers' favour by 3-1 but was a more even affair than the first game. Rovers shared 8 goals with Yate Town in their most recentgame. Yate had previously gone down 6-0 to JS Soccer One before losing the return 2-0 in a tight game with few chances. JS Soccer claimed top spot with a 6-0 win over Bath, which included three goals from Josha Allen, to maintain a 100% record.
