New U21 Football league Launch a Great Success....”.Nice one” says Cyrille Regis MBE
Former England Footballer and now president of the Midland Junior Premier Football League (MJPL) Cyrille Regis MBE is delighted with the terrific response the league have received following its launch of a new U21 league, this new concept, is the only one of its kind in the country to be fully approved by the FA Registrations and Sanction Committee and sanctioned by the Birmingham County FA .
“This is a huge step forward which will undoubtedly help fill the void which now exists between youth and adult football, hopefully we ( the MJPL) will now be able to give the players in this age group the opportunity to continue their development, playing in a competitive, high standard of football in a well organised environment” says Cyrille Regis MBE
Several league clubs have already expressed an interest to be involved, fielding teams from their Football in The Community initiatives. Birmingham City has already registered, with Bristol Rovers and Man Utd also in advanced discussions with the MJPL. The interest from league clubs is also matched with that from some of the top non league clubs from the region including Redditch Utd, Nuneaton Town, AFC Telford, Atherstone and Romulus, who have a

The Midland Junior Premier League Committee are pleased to officially release the new league logo and also the introduction of our league arm patches which are to be worn on all home and away shirts from the start of the new season.
The New League Logo
The old league logo featuring a green map outline of the mainland UK has been in place since the leagues inception but it had become evident that we needed something more flexible to enable us to make subtle changes such as to include "U21" for our new Under 21 league. So after looking at many options we finally came up with the simple idea of a football with a golden crown on top. This says exactly what the league is about.. Premier Football. Any accompanying wording will be applied to this logo when/if necessary for each instance.
We also propose to drop the word "Football" from the leagues title and so we would be know as The Midland Junior Premier League & The Midland Junior Premier Under 21 League.
Introducing the New MJPL Arm Patch
The leagues main aim as always been to provide our players with the best possible environment to enjoy developing their football skills and craft, we as a league have set stringent standards and criteria which all teams must abide by and work towards providing 100% of the time. Each year the management committee hear countless good news stories regarding players & coaches progressing to senior teams or moving on to academies and centres of excellences. This rate of success doesn't just happen by accident, a great deal of credit must go to the Coaches, Administrators, Parents & Players at each club for incredible amount of dedication, time and hard work they put in.
Together we are improving the standards of youth football in this country, time and again you have shown that you are prepared to go that extra mile to try and make a difference for our players.
The MJPL is not just any run of the mill league and our teams are not just any old run of the mill teams, as the countless number of talent scouts have confirmed, our teams at all age groups have some of the finest players and coaches in the UK.
So we are very excited to announce that from the start of the new season we will introduce the brand new MJPL arm patches. The patches are available in two designs.
Design One: Is the leagues new logo set on a white shield and this is only available to MJPL teams.
Design Two: Is the leagues new logo set on a Gold shield accompanied by the words "Champions" and "2009/10". This is only available to any of the National League Winners from 2009/10 season.

Photos Available - Last week the MJPFL u16 Representative team excepted and invitation to play Stoke City Academy u15 team at the impressive Newcastle-under-Lyme College. The game was a great advert for the work being done by both the MJPFL teams and the Stoke City Academy.
The game was very even with both sides sharing possession and creative football was in abundance. The MJPFL representative side finished up winners by 1 goal to nil which was scored by Burton Albions Ricki Birch but in fairness there could have been many more goals and as both sides competed well.

New for season 2010/2011 the MJPFL intend to provide a brand new Under 21 league to compliment the existing junior leagues we currently have.
Currently a team can enter at under 12 which is our youngest age group and then progress up to our youth section (u17/u18) and then they have to find an alternative league to play in. This would mean going to a midweek floodlit league or a Sunday open age group league.

Respect is The FA’s programme to address unacceptable behaviour in football – on and off the pitch. On average, thousands of referees quit football every year at because of the abuse they receive from players and from the sidelines. Lots of children also pack it in because of the attitude and actions of over-enthusiastic and pushy parents.
In response, The FA’s Respect programme provides a series of tools for leagues, clubs, coaches, Referees, players and parents from grassroots to elite football to ensure a safe, positive environment in which to enjoy the game.
These tools include agreed codes of conduct, in-service training for Referees, Respect club packs, spectator designated spectator areas and ensuring captains work with referees to manage player behaviour.

The National League Fixtures are now available from the menu above and to help you understand how the next phase of the season will pan out we have prepared the following details. All Cup Group fixtures must be concluded by 27th Feb 2010 and League fixtures by 24 April. National League:
Each League section is based around having up to 6 teams in each group. Teams have been placed within groups primarily based on Regional Group Stage Performance and where teams are level we have looked at the teams ability to adhere to MJPFL matchday standards as set out.
The aim is teams will get a good standard of competitive football based on their performance in the regional group stage all teams improve as the season progresses but this system hopefully allows a better starting point for this improvement.
MJPFL National Cup:

Heath Hayes have been involved in all three of the Group 1 games to date. Their programme got off to a good start with a 4-0 victory away to Bolehall Swifts. Bolehall started strongly in the next game between them and took the lead from the spot but it was Heath Hayes who took control to win 2-1. Nuneaton Town were their next opponents and it was Heath Hayes again who were on top although the score was 1-1 when the teams turned round. Burton Albion opened their Group 1 campaign with a 5-0 victory over Austrey Rangers who were thankful for goalkeeper Ellis Hunkins keeping the score down. Romulus had their scoring boots on when they faced Pilkington XXX and rattled up ten goals to their opponents one. Pilkington fared slightly better when they took on Burton but despite pulling a goal back when two down it was Burton who went on to win 6-1. Romulus had Jim Dale, Paul Murchington and Courtney Richards all scoring hat-tricks while Jan Trapszo capped that by getting on the scoresheet four times in a 17-0 win over Austrey Rangers who, despite their heavy defeat, earned the appreciation of those watching for their spirited performance. Austrey, after going one behind against Pilkington, scored their first goal but the understandable celebrations seemed to distract them from the game at hand and they fell behind yet again. They then went on to take a 3-2 lead which Pilkington pulled back with a penalty. It was another spot-kick which gave Austrey a 4-3 victory. Romulus and Burton faced each other both defending 100% records and it was Romulus who

Mile Oak Rovers are unbeaten in Group 1. They fell behind to Burton Albion in their first game before taking a 2-1 lead into the break. Growing in confidence as the game went on they finished as 4-1 winners. Burton twice took the lead in a competitive game at Mile Oak but the hosts twice came from behind to earn each side a point in a 2-2 draw. Nuneaton Town's opening match saw them rally after going behind to two very good Tividale goals. With the teams level 2-2 at the break Nuneaton's defence held out against some excellent football played by Tividale before clinching the game 4-2. In the return Tividale's flowing football was rewarded with six goals, without reply, in the first half. A stronger second-half showing enabled Nuneaton to pull back two goals before Tividale added to their firt-half tally to finish as 8-2 winners. In their last game Mile Oak took the lead just before the break and extended their lead before Tividale pulled one back. Tividale were unable to build on this and eventually fell 4-1. Nuneaton Town started well on Saturday and led 2-0 at the change around before Burton also scored two for a share of the spoils.

An improved Bilbrook showing next time around saw them start the brighter but it wasn't enough to prevent a repeat of the first game's score. Bilbrook came close to earning a point in their last game saw Wednesfield come out winneres by 2-1. Wednesfield had opened with a 1-0 win over Burton Athletic before sharing six goals in the next game between the two.
